Terms and conditions of use

  • This website is managed by the Flanders’ Agricultural Marketing Board (VLAM) vzw. VLAM is based in Brussels at boulevard du Roi Albert II 35, box 50. The website is freely accessible and is optimised for the blind and visually impaired. You acknowledge these terms and conditions of use and agree with them. If you do not agree with them, please leave the website now of your own accord.
  • VLAM may change or terminate the website at any time at its own discretion, with or without prior notification. VLAM is not responsible for any consequences of changing or terminating the website.
  • You may place a link to the VLAM websites on your own website. The web page bearing the link must disappear completely and the URL address of the VLAM website must be clearly visible. VLAM reserves the right to deny you permission to use the website and/or certain services that are offered on it. Further to this, VLAM may monitor access to the website.
  • VLAM makes the information on the website available purely for information purposes. Unauthorised or improper use of the website or its contents may result in a breach of intellectual property rights, regulations pertaining to privacy, publication and/or communication in the broadest sense of the word. If you breach the intellectual property rights, other rights of VLAM or third parties, you undertake to compensate VLAM or the third parties and to indemnify them against any claims by VLAM or third parties as a result of a breach.
  • You undertake to amongst other things:
    • not use the information in an unlawful, illegal manner;
    • not use the website in a way that it is damaged, deformed, interrupted, terminated or made less efficient;
    • not use the website to transmit or post computer viruses, to transmit or post illegal or unlawful material or material that is inappropriate in any way (including but not limited to material of a defamatory, obscene or threatening nature);
    • not use the website in a way that the rights of a natural person, legal entity or association are breached, such as including but not limited to the rights to privacy and intellectual property rights;
    • not use the website to post and transmit material of a promotional or publicity nature without prior permission from VLAM, except if the recipient requested it.
  • VLAM tries to constantly keep the information on the website correct and up to date and depends on third parties for the basic information. In no case can VLAM be held liable for any errors, incompleteness or inaccuracies that might occur, nor for any outdated data.
  • At the simple request of any party that can prove a legal interest, where necessary the necessary additions or corrections will be made as soon as possible.
  • Nor can VLAM be held liable if use of the website or the references it contains leads to damage of any nature for the user. Links to other, external sources of information are made purely for information purposes and do not reflect any opinion of the contents or their existence.
  • The website may contain references (for example by means of a hyperlink, banner of button) to other websites that relate to a specific aspect of this website or something placed by third parties. This does not automatically mean that VLAM is connected to these other websites or their owners. Nor are we responsible for those third parties observing the privacy legislation or by contributions posted by third parties. Use of them is always at your own risk.
  • If you send information, such as pictures or other files, to or via the website, you declare that you are the owner of all the intellectual property rights, copyright, image rights, related rights and where applicable other rights (regardless of whether they are registered or not) that apply to them. As soon as you send them to VLAM, you grant:
    • the unconditional right of use;
    • the right of reproduction;
    • the right to edit and translate them;
    • the right to communicate them to the general public.

These rights shall be waived free of charge, unless the contrary is explicitly agreed upon. From the time of transfer, VLAM is entitled to use the information transferred (with the exception of personal data, see the

Privacy Statement) for marketing purposes. In addition, you indemnify VLAM against any possible forms of liability with regard to the use of the information, pictures or other files.

  • Only Belgian law is applicable to any disputes relating to the website. The courts of the legal district of Brussels have sole jurisdiction to hear any disputes.

  • This privacy statement, amongst other things, indicates which data is collected by VLAM on its website, how VLAM uses that data and how the information is protected. By making use of the website and the related services, you explicitly agree with the collection, use, publication and storage by us of your personal data as described in this privacy policy and the terms and conditions of use. In the future, VLAM may decide to change the privacy policy if, for example, and where permitted by law, other (personal) data is processed that is not named in this privacy statement.
  • If you visit the website purely to find information about VLAM or its products and services, or about the subjects or items that appear on this website, your personal data will not be processed.  Only if you wish to receive certain services or products, if you wish to take part in competitions or request services for which registration is required (e.g. to receive the newsletter) you may be asked to provide certain personal data (such as your first name, surname, nickname, e-mail address, gender, street name, house number, postcode, postal address, date of birth, profession, telephone number and picture). Each time you provide personal data, VLAM will handle them in accordance with the policy described here and with the legal obligations with regard to processing personal data. You guarantee that the data that you communicate to VLAM belong to you, or at least that you have permission to use them and communicate them to VLAM. VLAM may deny you access to its websites or parts thereof, temporarily or definitively, if you use false data or the data of third parties without their permission.
  • VLAM processes the personal data to get in touch with you, to be able to deliver the products or services you requested or for which you registered to you, to inform you of its range of products and services (including the dates on which VLAM events will be held; competitions, etc.), to personalise its offer of products and services and for direct marketing purposes. VLAM will only send you the information you register for on the website such as the newsletter. The use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes by third parties is subject to your explicit permission that you are completely free to give or refuse. VLAM will in principle only process the personal data you provide for the purposes named in this privacy statement. If VLAM wishes to use your personal data for other purposes or wishes to pass them on to companies with which it cooperates, it will ask for your explicit permission to do so and you may refuse.
  • VLAM protects your data with the aid of technical and administrative security measures to keep the risk of loss, abuse, unauthorised access, publication and editing as small as possible. This includes firewalls, encryption of data and physical and administrative access controls to the data and servers. If you think that your data has been abused, please contact us. VLAM does not keep personal data for longer than is permitted by law and deletes personal data when it is no longer necessary for the aforementioned purposes.
  • If your data contains errors or is incomplete or irrelevant for the purposes for which we process your data, you may ask us to edit or delete your data. Such requests shall be handled in accordance with the Law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy with regard to the processing of personal data.
  • VLAM can collect anonymous or aggregated data of a non-personal nature, such as browser type or IP address, the operating program you use or the domain name of the website via which you entered the VLAM website or left it.


  • If you use VLAM’s services, VLAM or a service provider may use cookies (data files on the disk of your (mobile) device) or web beacons (electronic images that are placed in the code of a webpage) or similar technologies. VLAM uses these cookies and similar technologies to collect data, to identify you as a user, to offer you a better user experience on our website, to measure the effect of promotion, to offer customised services and targeted advertisements and to promote and guarantee confidence and safety on our website.
  • The VLAM websites may use different types of cookies:
    • Indispensable cookies: these cookies are essential for making use of the website and all its components. A few examples: navigation on the website, forms to complete, remembering the content of your shopping basket, etc. These cookies also take care of a safe identity check: when you register, this cookie will ensure that your identity is checked before you are given access to your personal information.
    • Functional cookies: functional cookies are the cookies that facilitate the functioning of the website and ensure that you have a more personalised surf experience. A few examples: language, presentation preferences, etc.
    • Performance cookies: VLAM may use performance cookies to collect information about visitors’ use of the website with the aim of improving the contents of the website, optimising it or making it more efficient. A few examples: counting visitors, listing the most popular pages, etc.
    • Advertising cookies: VLAM’s website works with advertising cookies. During your visit to the website, your surfing behaviour and your demographic and profile data will be anonymously processed in an advertising cookie. Advertisers on the website can also install advertising cookies. The information that we collect using the advertising cookies is used to measure the efficiency of the publicity to better gear advertisements to your possible interests.
  • You can refuse the installation of cookies via your browser settings. You can also remove any installed cookies from your computer or mobile device at any time.
  • You can determine for yourself whether you do or do not wish to make use of personalized advertising in ‘Your online choice’.


The website has set the Google Analytics advertising functions to obtain demographic and interest reports. This information can be used for remarketing purposes. The information obtained in this way, including the address of your computer (IP address), is transferred to servers in the United States of America and stored there by Google. Read the Google’s privacy policy for more information, as well as for the specific privacy policy for Google Analytics. You can opt out of the Google Analytics Advertising functions via the Ads Preferences Manager by choosing ‘unsubscribe’. Additionally, you can exclude yourself from being included in our web statistics by making use of this Browser Add-on.

Google uses this information to record how our website is used, to provide us with reports about the website and to offer its advertisers information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may provide third partiers with this information if Google is obliged to do so by law, or if those third parties process the information on behalf of Google. VLAM does not have any influence on this. VLAM has only allowed Google to use the analytics obtained for the services of Google itself.
