About the company
Since its foundation in 1936 the SYLVA company has become one of the most famous Belgian forest tree nurseries. SYLVA is an expert in the cultivation and commercialization of all tree nursery varieties. Therefore we hold various trumps. First of all SYLVA is ideally located in the tree cultivation centre north of Ghent, where the light-sandy and fertile soil in combination with the mild sea climate is offering an ideal environment for the cultivation of high quality shrubbery. The Waarschoot office has another important point of advantage: the central position in the ‘heart’ of Europe, where the very well developed transport network ensures a quick and easy product distribution. Moreover, SYLVA has a vast experience in the field of exports. About 85% of the turnover is exported to all the different EU member states and 10% goes to non EU members. The changing needs on the various markets have urged SYLVA to permanently adapt its production and plant assortment. From the various regions of origin all over the world selected basic material was imported for the cultivation of the most important varieties of forest trees. Thus we can offer the clients a wide range of products. With a professional management, a vast experience and a comprehensive know-how, SYLVA is accepting the challenge of the new millennium.
