With a turnover of more than 300 million EUR, the Auction of BelOrta (Auction of Mechlin and Coöbra) is Europe’s largest co-operative auction. Turnover peaks in April, May, June and July, during which sales exceed 25 million EUR. Almost 40% of all Belgian horticultural products traded via the auction system are sold in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. The largest volumes are processed from May to August.
