Meat has no equal as food and sits both literally and figuratively under our skin. It has ardent enthusiasts, but belligerent opponents too. Prof Leroy investigated why few are indifferent to meat and why it generates such emotional and often culture-dependent reactions.
In the first half of 2015, Belgium exported more than 80,000 tons of beef. That is 7% more than the same period in 2014. Thus the growth continues, as 2014 was already a record year for Belgian beef exports. Belgian Meat Office lists the main developments.
PORK EXPORTS INCREASED BY 4% IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2015
The Belgian export volumes of pork increased by 4% in the first half of 2015. More Belgian pork was exported to both European and far-off destinations. Belgium therefore reconfirms its prominent position on the international pork market. Belgian Meat Office analysed the trade figures and recorded some remarkable changes.
